Release Note - March 11, 2026
General
This release includes the capability to access 30+ petabytes of NCBI SRA data on BDC platform using RAS passport authorization. NCBI SRA is a publicly available repository of high throughput sequencing data. These data often utilize NIH controlled access via dbGaP (the database of Genotypes and Phenotypes).
Improvements
In March 2025, BDC migrated to a direct RAS-based login, enabling access to controlled data authorized through RAS passports. Building on that foundation, this release introduces an important enhancement: You can now access and analyze NCBI SRA data directly through the platform using your RAS accounts.
This upgrade extends the value of our RAS integration by broadening the range of controlled datasets you can work with, streamlining access, and improving overall efficiency for data-driven workflows.
